At Joug we also make custom SUP paddles (stand up paddleboard paddles). Each paddle is individually handcrafted by us in Wellington.
The paddle shaft is made up of solid Ash extending all the way to the end of the paddle blade.  This increases the overall strength of the paddle and creates an even flex pattern.
The blade of the paddle is tilted to increase efficiency during paddling.
The blade is a lamination of Ash and Mahogany with a dihedral on the blade to improve its stability during the power phase.
The paddle tracks beautifully through the paddle stroke. The grip of the paddle is a T-Grip.
Each paddle is custom made to fit your body length - usually 250mm taller than your height.  

We finish the paddle with a natural beeswax coating or epoxy resin. The images below with the sky background are of a paddle without a coating.
