At Joug Design we make custom products for customers with a particular vision. You can take our product concepts from the Joug products range and play around with them to create something unique and beautiful to suit you own home. When you have an idea of what you might like, simply email us with your specifications and we will work with you to create a light shade that is exclusively you!
We also make custom fabric light shades using fabrics from New Zealand fabric designers and suppliers. These shades can be made exactly to your own specifications.

  Ordering a fabric light shade
1. You can contact one of our stockist and ask them to order a fabric shade made by Joug Design.
Alternatively you can contact us at info@joug.co.nz.
2. Choose Fabric: you can either use your own fabric or choose from a gorgeous range of fabrics from one of our fabric suppliers: Bolt of Cloth, Stitchbird, James Dunlop, Seneca, Textilia or Warwick to select your favourite fabric. 4. If you are going to supply your own fabric then this is the amount of fabric that you will need to send us:
length of fabric = diameter of light shade (cm) x 3.14 + 6cm width of fabric = height of light shade (cm) +6cm Our address for sending your own fabric is:

5. Our light shades fit a standard New Zealand light fitting. If you have an Euro or US base or light fitting please let us know.
Extras:
Diffuser: Lightshades can be supplied with a bottom diffuser and a top cover as required. Diffuser material comes in opaque or clear acrylic.
Suspension kit: A complete suspension kit can be supplied including stainless steel suspension cables with ceiling fixtures, clean electrical flex, and a ceiling rose.

Ruth's light shade
Ruth asked us to make her two light shades using this lovely Ikea fabric. Her home was featured in the Dompost (1 Aug 2009) diameter 360mm height 250mm
Bubbles light shade
Anna of Auckland asked us to make her two custom sized Bubbles light shade each having a diameter of 261mm and a height of 468mm. She wanted mostly white light shade with a splash of green and orange.  Tall Floor Light Shade
Andrea Moore retail shops
Andrea Moore asked if we could produce large 900mm diameter diffuser light shades that do not collect dust on the inside of the diffuser. This seems to be a problem with traditional diffuser light shades and we have the solution.
We set about to re-design the traditional diffuser light shade using our minimalist design philosophy. A new method of manufacturing diffuser light shades was developed taking away from the traditional view and creating a totally new way of designing a light shade. A lot of functionality of the Delightful light shade was borrowed. The end result is a beautiful light shade that produces a soft glow showing off the fabric on the light shade.
